I've been looking lately for music, something ... powerful, awesome. Something that gives you a bit of a thrill to hear it. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Also? I've been browsing the history of horror and fairytales and legends. Has anyone ever heard of Elizabeth of Bathory before? Because seriously? Scary lady, even if half of it wasn't true. Between 80 and 600 victims, depending on the account. Wow. I thought La Voisin was bad! No wonder people thought she was a vampire. The Countess of Blood, who bathed in the blood of victims in search of youth (untrue, but even the existance of a legend ...).
Mind you, she still can't compare to the earlier monster. Vlad Tepes, Draculae, with victims to his name in the tens of thousands, impaled and burned. Okay, warlord, who successfully kept the Ottomans out of Romania, but still.
Why do humans make up so many myths of monsters, when the most impressive and terrifying monsters in history were our own?
