For [livejournal.com profile] catyuy , who possibly cheated, but anyway. *grins* Weregild verse. Part of a short series dealing with the Trickster eps. Technically the first, though it was written second, dealing with Tall Tales.

Title: Justice
Rating:  PG-13
Fandoms:  Supernatural, Norse Myth
Continuity:  Set during SPN 2x15, Tall Tales.
Characters/Pairings:  Loki, Gabriel. Mentions of all four kids, Sam and Dean, Odin, and the victims that ep. Gabriel/Loki
Summary:  There is a strange justice to what Gabriel does as Trickster
Wordcount:  472
Warnings/Notes:  Um. Slightly messed up. Or, you know, majorly. Also, looked at with Loki in mind, that was a very interesting choice of targets on Gabriel's part ...
Disclaimer:  Not mine

Browsing TV Tropes, you find some fabulous things. *grins* For example, looking at their Alternative Character Interpretation page for Mythology, there was this comment on Loki:

- Loki. Should you casually make mention of him as a 'bad guy', you will be chastised by both his hurt/comfort-obsessed fangirls and mildly saner (if snootier) fans of the earlier Eddas, who'll point out that most of the versions of the myths in which he's a total bastard date from relatively late in the game. Turn around and say he's a good guy, however, and numerous people will pat you on the head and say, "Awww, that's adorable. You actually think there are good guys in these stories." -

*snickers* I love that. Pretty much every god and goddess in the pantheon could be an absolute asshole should it take their fancy, and it's awesome. Norse world-view seemed less concerned with which side is right or wrong, and more about which side is ours. Right now, anyway. Though there are some lovely chaos vs order undertones, too.

Incidentally? I count in both the 'hurt/comfort obsessed fangirl' and the 'fan of earlier eddas' camps. *grins cheerfully* Can you tell?
