I have a thing for heist shows, and conmen. Like, so much. Not for fanfic purposes, but to watch. Leverage, White Collar, the fourth season of Prison Break, the old Mission Impossible series, watching Artie in Wild Wild West, watching Jonathan in the Mummy trilogy, watching Ben in Lost (not Sawyer, because for some reason he always seemed fairly up-front for a conman, while Ben was busy lying through his teeth about, well, everything). The list sorta goes on and on. I just ... I don't know. It's like watching a magic trick, with people. These people are like magicians to me, playing games with forces I can't see to get results no-one can beat. It's awesome. *grins* I ... really go for guile over brawn, most of the time.
I blame A-team. Seriously. That show ruined me for life. A-team, and mythology. Because, basically, what I fell in love with, repeatedly, is essentially the Trickster archetype. Particularly the Karmic Trickster, who is sort of a hero, or a least a balancing force, and usually only screws people over because they deserve it. Bugs Bunny. The A-team. But even the less scrupulous Tricksters, so long as they were good at what they did. Loki. Heh. All of whom I was introduced to at a young and tender age, and quite possibly never got over. *grins*
Looney Tunes, and the A-team, and mythology. These things shape us. *nods seriously, cracks up*
