"What troubles you, my melancholy one?"

"Trouble? I am ever troubled. I carry all the sorrow of the world in the corners of my eyes, and all its weight upon my shoulders. Do not speak to me of trouble, for I know it well, and carry it safe inside my heart, like a lover."

"Ah, yes. You are in fey mood this evening, beloved. You should not grieve so."

"Yes. But the world dreams in tears, my heart, sorrowful jewels wept bright across the skies. How can I look, and not grieve?"

"That, at least, is simple, dear one. If it grieves you to look, then turn your face. Your heart cannot mourn what your eyes do not see."

"... Beloved, you cannot understand. If I do not look upon the sorrow of the world, how can I see it's beauty? Is it not worth my grieving, to have known that splendor?"

"Yes, my love. And it is worth the sorrow in your eyes, to see you smile."
