Since I'm not good for much, but even I should be able to manage sentances.
1) Give me ten one-word prompts for a fandom/character/pairing of your choice.
2) I'll write one/two sentances for each of those prompts.
Fandoms: All the old favourites, but new things I've found include The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, The Equalizer, and the Flashman series. As usual, anything you want me to try, at least ask and I'll see what I can do.
Also here on my LJ.

1) Pride
He's been proud of a lot of things, in his time. Proud of serving his country, back in more innocent days. Proud in his work, now. Proud of being able to help, really help people. But most of all ... when Scott looks at him like he's a father to be proud of ... that's when he really knows what pride is.
2) Excellent
"You know, you really are an excellent cook." And that's Kostmayer, and he'd be flattered, he really would, if he didn't suspect just a touch of an ulterior motive in the compliment. Then again, Micky did need feeding.
3) Help
"Please! Please help me. There's no-one else." But there should be. That's what he thinks, every time. There should be someone other than some washed-up intelligence agent to help these people, all these people. But there isn't. And until there is, he can't stop.
4) Wrath
"I do not forgive!" And it's nothing but the truth. Nothing but the truth. People like this, this piece of scum, who hurt people, who hound them and hunt them and make them afraid ... he does not forgive. Not that. Never that. And makes sure they know it.
5) Helpless
He's been helpless before. There have been times he's lost, times he just hasn't been careful enough, times when he needed someone, a partner or friend or uncaring stranger to help him. So he knows. He knows what these people feel, when they call for him. That's why he answers.
6) Diverse
There are so many people, in this city. So many people, so many types of trouble, so many types of pain. On the bad days, that's what he thinks. So many ways pain can come for you. But on the good, when he makes it in time, when he saves them ... he realizes that the types of joy, the types of smile, are equally as diverse.
7) Gun
He has a gun. He has lots of guns, one for every occasion, and knows where to get more at a moment's notice. Somehow, it fails to make him feel safe. He knows too well how little protection a gun really is. No. A gun doesn't protect. It never did. A gun ... avenges.
8) Pain
They say pain lets you know you alive. Pain is what tells you you still exist, are still enough of a person to feel. That's what they say. He believes that. He has to.
9) Joy
It's a hard world he lives in. He knows that. A world where things so rarely seem to go well, where joy seens so very scarce. That's why he clings with all he has to those few moments of real joy that come his way.
10) Living
Scott thinks what he does, what he is, isn't living, won't ever be living. How can you live, with a gun in your hand? But all Robert has to do is look at Control, look at the shadow of his oldest friend, and he knows that he made the right choice.

1) Singing
Mina cannot sing. Mina really cannot sing. But sitting in the salon of the Nautilus, looking at each other in desperation, there is not a man present with the will to tell her so.
2) Water
Henry watches Nemo, sometimes. Him and Edward, watching the dark man, watching him stare out at the oceans he calls his home, the endless expanses of water ... and think they suit each other, the man and the sea. Both calm, tempestuous, powerful. Both unknowable, in their way.
3) Shriek
It sounds like a woman, a shriek of terror and panic, and as one Sawyer and Henry are running, Nemo catching them up in the corridor, and then they burst into the room ... to see Skinner all but climbing the walls, and Mina standing there looking very, very innocent. Sawyer blinks. He hadn't realised Skinner had it in him.
4) Green
Spend any amount of time on the Nautilus, Sawyer thinks, and you learn to eat pretty much anything. Pretty much anything. But this ... it's green, it's stinky, it has roughly the same consistency as some of Mina's experiments, and there is no way in hell he's going to eat it. Then Nemo raises an eyebrow at him, and he thinks maybe it doesn't look so bad after all.
5) Scratching
Edward hears scratching, in the night. Edward hears a lot of things Henry doesn't hear, or doesn't realise he's hearing. And Henry's learned to listen to the things Edward says he hears. He goes to fetch Nemo.
6) Ink
Mina has an elegant hand, Allan thinks. A very elegant hand, neat and curling, with well-formed letters. It might look almost charming, if one didn't know the ink she used was not exactly one you could buy in a bookseller's. Not even the less reputable ones. Not even in Africa.
7) Whisper
Sawyer hears him sometimes. Hears whispers over his shoulder, warm and rumbling, guiding. He hears him, and knows he should be afraid, should worry for his sanity. But hell. His sanity was lost the minute he joined this outfit, and for now he's just glad to have Quartermaine's advice when he needs it.
8) Debate
Edwards wants him to act. Henry thinks it's too dangerous. Far too dangerous. Nemo ... they have no way to know how he will react, and Henry treasures their friendship with the man too much to risk it. But Edward wants, and so does he, and Edward knows it too.
9) Hidden
There are places, on the Nautilus, that his new friends do not know. That no-one knows. Places that even his crew do not see. Places where Nemo holds himself apart, where he goes when he must be beyond people, where he must let loose his rage where it can do no harm. One day ... perhaps he will reveal them. If anyone would understand, it is these people.
10) Newspaper
It's on their last day in Africa that they see it. Mina's sitting calmly at her breakfast table, reading a local newspaper with aplomb while Sawyer watches her and the others watch him watching, when she gasps, and they turn to pay real attention. And they see it. See him. Allan Quartermaine, staring out at them from the page, and the date on the picture is yesterday's.

Thanks for indulging me. I'd just watched it earlier that day so. I also am glad that you got some stuff with Jekyll and Hyde there.

*nods* Jekyll/Hyde were sort of my favs, them and Skinner. I'm afraid I sort of ship them a bit with Nemo, though, which probably shows a lot.
