Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."

• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions
• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions

(Any asking of questions is totally optional!)

1) If you had to live the rest of your life in the past, what era would you choose?
Gods, the questions you ask! How am I supposed to pick? ... *grins sheepishly* But then again, I really am too obsessed with steampunk for anything else, aren't I? Victorian, it has to be. Probably the colonies, though, rather than actual England. Industrialisation had its downsides, after all. And the exploration, the cultures, the memsahibs ... I could be a memsahib, if the man was right. Or at least absent. Heh.

2) Why is Clark/Bruce one of your favorite pairings?

*grin* It's a good job you said 'one of'. But what I like about them ... they feel solid and round in my head, a complement to each other, at least when they're on form. Clark needs a little cynicism, and sometimes he also needs someone to be cynical for him, so that he doesn't have to be. Someone he can trust to be complicated, so he can do his best to be simple (not stupid, simple). Bruce does that for him. And Bruce ... he needs someone to be strong for when he's shattered, and someone to wallop him when he's being too much himself, and for both of those Clark is eminently qualified! *grin* I suppose I just like how balanced they feel, how they hold each other up, instead of dragging each other down.

3) What mythic pantheon appeals to you most? Greek, Roman, Egyptian, or something else?

Er. Do I have to pick? Because they all have their own appeals. The bawdiness of Norse, the politics of Greek/Roman, the mystery of Egyptian, the darkness and balance of Hindu, the sheer seductiveness of Voudoun ... They all have something. However, if we're talking longstanding fav's, my oldest loves ... Celtic and Norse. Celtic because I grew up on it, because I was reading about the Tuatha de Danaan and the Fianna and Cuchulainn since I was a kid, because there was always something sly about them even through the heroics. And Norse because ... well, Loki. Fenrir. Tyr. Heimdall. Even Thor, great oaf that he is. And Ragnarok, because somehow the twilight of the gods is an idea that appeals to me. It adds just that shade of poignancy to their bawdiness and heroism and cruelty, and I do love that.

4) If you were given an unlimited budget in Hollywood, what film would you create?

If I had an unlimited budget, there are about five dozen movies I want to make, but ... I really, really want something big and vibrant and swoopingly steampunk. I want a sky-pirate movie. *grins* And I want it mythical. I want nations to rise and fall, good versus evil only not quite so clearcut, heroes and villains and swansongs and derring-do. *grins* I want something like the old sword-and-sandal Hollywood epics in length, pace and theme, with a Victorian edge for mood/setting, and a comic-book ethos. And I want character actors, because I want more focus on the story than the cast, thank you. *tilts head* I'd nearly do it animated, for that, and for the voices, but the little selfish piece of me wants live-action pretty, and especially exceptional CGI airships. I mean realistic, but just that edge over into awesome. The Hindenburg, with more brass and clockwork. Like that. And ... alright. You get the idea, right?

5) What's your favorite food? :)

*frowns* I have this love-affair with Straccetti, which is an Italian dish involving beef strips, and I love it in balsamic vinegar and a few other bits and pieces, including cherry tomatoes bursting juice into the sauce, and my gods, did I mention the beef? I tasted it first in this little family-owned Italian at home, and I fell in love. When my parents asked what I wanted for my 21st birthday, I had one word. Straccetti. *grins* I practically inhaled the plate! Then my sainted father made my night by giving me some of his, too. *bounces* Gods, it was gorgeous. I have this craving, right now ...
