Floodwaters have gone down enough that they're not actually at the door anymore. Heh. Went down by about 3 or 4 feet, actually. Must have been a hell of a tide, but we've got gales offshore, driving water up the estuary, so I'm not actually all that surprised. Hope tonight's tide isn't as bad.

Made it to the shops. Had no wellies, so I basically had to roll up my pants and go it in sandals. Basically bare feet in floodwater in November. Nothing like it to get the blood flowing, old chap! *grins ruefully* And how weird is it that I only mean that slightly sarcastically? Slogging through wet, filthy, freezing water, in freaking November, and I kinda loved it. *shakes head* Yup, something wonky upstairs, that's me! *laughs*

I've stocked up, anyway. We're getting more torrential rains in tonight, apparently, and offshore still ain't fun, so chances are good we'll be in the exact same boat tomorrow morning, and man, I wish I actually had a boat. One of the canoes from home. Wetsuit too, that'd be handy. Or hell, my damn wellies! That'd be a good start. But nope. None of the above, but at least if all comes to all I won't have to go outside tomorrow, since I got everything today.

... I'm kinda tempted anyway, though.
