Rain Dance
There was music in the air, a singing rhythm, a rapid, pitter-patter beat.
Light moved through the rain, laughing as it bounced from drop to sparking drop, a glowing web of mist.
Hands flashed inside the web, bodies, shining as they swayed, fingers tapping an echo of the song onto gleaming stomachs.Bare feet danced through puddles, striking the shimmering pools and shattering the light into a thousand exuberant pieces.
The world whirled and shimmied, vibrant with joy, fragmented and fiercely wonderous, and at its center were the dancers, dark and joyous, the rain like tears from dreaming eyes.
Hands and feet, laughter and singing, the motion and sound to shatter the light into rain, and move all the world to tears.
Rain dance.
