Okay. Okay. We've (mostly) past the boil-your-brain-out, punched-in-the-face head portion of the cold. Now it's moved down into my chest and settled there quite happily, as usual. *sighs* And I'm not sure why I'm posting this. Possibly I'm not thinking all that clearly just yet. Fever-dreams scramble your brain. *nods solemnly*
Also? Heavy-duty texts on Medieval Islamic Engineering are hard enough going when I'm not boil-brained and coughing my lungs up. And some of the original illustrations from the islamic manuscripts look really funky when viewed through a fever-lense. Possibly not helped by the fact that most of the water-raising technology involves gears, which in illustration usually translates to 'vast spiky things involving bound animals' (animal power being the main motive force on anything not situated over a fast-running water course - or wind or gravity powered, admittedly, but ... shush), which ... again, do not do happy things to a fevered brain -_-;
Also also? I'm rambly today. And babbly.
