I did a lot of work on my dissertation today (1200 words, in one sitting, which is a lot for me), and I'm noticing some worrying things. Well, worrying mostly because I've a week and a half to finish this thing.

I think I'm going to have to find someone to help me edit the thing. I mean, I've only got 1200 words done outright, yet, so I probably shouldn't be thinking about that, but ... Okay. The thing is divided into sections, the first few of which are the basic facts on different technologies, the last section an analysis of the previous ones, and then introduction and conclusion. The entire thing is supposed to be 5000 words long. And those 1200 words today? One section, on one technology. I think I may have a problem.

I think, for definite, I'm going to be cutting it down from four technologies to three, based on the amount of space I have and this experience with how much just one tech takes up. I might have to divide the analysis section out into the other sections, but I don't want to do that because it's to deal with trends spanning all three. Allowing a thousand words apiece for each tech (more or less - naval tech will probably be longer, the trebuchet shorter), that leaves 1000 for the analysis, and 1000 for intro and conclusion. Roughly. I'll need it. I might crib from I/C word allotment in favour of analysis, if needed.

But, pretty much for definite, I'm going to need help editting this if I want to do well. I am very, very bad at editting. The problem is, I've no idea how to go about getting editting help -_-; My mentor doesn't do that kind of thing, and my dissertation supervisor has enough on his plate, considering I'm a month late as it stands, and the exams are starting.

*sighs* I'm in trouble. Relatively productive, mind, but in trouble. Oi vey.
