First things first. *flails around madly for a few minutes, making high-pitched noises*

Ahem. Right. Actual thoughts, now. Nikola and Helen first:

Nikola and Helen, Victorian tomb-robbers! *coughs* I mean, archaeologists. Absolutely. *grins* Much, much love.

Nikola dying! I mean ... And he's still him, he's still appallingly arrogant and pushy and desperate and him, and ... "Read to me." Oh. Oh. *hugs him desperately*

And Helen turned him back. HELEN! To SAVE HIM! *bounces* Oh, that's ... That makes up for 3x04, Helen, it really does.

And the Vampire Queen was all ... does every powerful female on this show have vibes with Helen? I'm just asking, here. Heh. And stringing Nikola along before feeding and dropping him into a trap, and calling him a mongrel ... Have to say, sort of saw that coming. Race as arrogant as the vampires, half-breed was never going to cut it. Poor Nikola. Though his rejoinder, there, was rather nice. *grins*

Point, though, Nikola, on when Helen choses to feel safe. Heh.

I have to say, I love Athena (Anfira?) saying that trap was 'designed for a true vampire, a warrior', and I'm like, well, I'll give him five minutes to be out of it, then. Nikola isn't a warrior. He's a scientist. And while it might have taken him a while to remember it, all hopped up on being a vampire again, while magnetising a grappling hook isn't exactly genius, he's still Nikola Tesla, and a trap designed for a warrior takes him half a minute of actual thinking to be out of. *grins*

On that note, he magnetised the hook. He still has magnetism! *grins happily*

And the "Hi!". *bounces* I love the "Hi!". It's all, did you miss me? What took you so long? It's so them.

And Helen, with the map and the word, and the cool-under-pressure, and the generally being awesome ... *grins* And saving Nikola. Again. Because they trade off on the saving-each-other thing.

And the end conversation. A small price. For saving my life? For saving the world, hello? Oh, right. That too. *snickers at them* Oh, I love them together so much. As friends and flirting partners. They are such fun. *grins happily*

And then Kate:

Oh, honey. *hugs her* This episode really seems to be about affirming loyalties in the face of the past coming to haunt the present. And poor Kate. Making the choice without ever telling them, deciding without ever being asked, because the Sanctuary is who she is now, and that means she chooses its mission first. Oh, Kate. And the moments with the Big Guy, so cute and awesome. And even Will, yes, the boy learned tact. That was nicely done.

And Kate warning them off. Because Kate + Sanctuary = Kick your ass, boy, you mess with us. *grins* Kate, you are awesome. And I'm so glad you've found people to care if you're gone.

Okay. *breathes* Squee over, yes? *grins*
