Following [personal profile] ilyena_sylph's example, and purely off the top of my head:

Fuck yeah, she's awesome:

Mace (Strange Days), for being kickass and a bodyguard and awesome, but mostly for seeing a good man inside a loser, and trying to bring him out. Or at least keep him alive.

Nyota Uhura (Star Trek), original flavour because I haven't seen the new movie, for being ... for being Uhura. For being grace and humour and strength incarnate, and for being quite possibly the hottest woman I've ever clapped eyes on.

Jessica Rabbit (Who Framed Roger Rabbit), for being no more, but never, ever less than what she was drawn to be.

Lois Lane (DC), for enduring despite it all, for loving Clark as well as Superman, and for being strong enough and intelligent enough in her own right to hold onto the world's strongest man.

Barbara Gordon (DC), for being just about the strongest, most courageous person I've ever seen, and beautiful and scary-intelligent to boot.

Selina Kyle (DC), for being broken and beautiful and strong despite it all.

Servalan (Blake's 7), for being the most magnificent bitch in this or any other galaxy, and for being the last woman standing come what may, and for being able to knock Avon down a peg or six, let alone Blake.

Evey O' Connell (The Mummy series), for being a shy librarian dumped in a world of mummies, scoundrels and adventures and deciding, sod it, I'm going to have fun, defeat evil and damn well get my man!

Azkadellia (Tin Man), for being a magnificent evil bitch, and for keeping a hold of some part of herself through years of possession and slavery.

Morticia Addams (Addams Family), for being sexy and passionate and hot and compassionate, for adoring her family, for ... for being Morticia!

Bulma (Dragonball Z), for catching the damned Saiyan prince, and making him wear a pink shirt, and making a man who'd only ever known hate learn to love

Audrey (Forbidden Game), for choosing Michael, of all the men she could have had in the world, and she could have had any. For standing up to what she feared, and beside those she cared about, and managing to keep make-up mostly intact in the process

Murphy (Dresden Files), for being five foot nothing, cute as a button, and making demons and werewolves cry for their mummies. Not to mention keeping Harry more or less on the straight and narrow, and knowing when the rules she lived her life by were less important than the people they could no longer protect. Murph could admit to being wrong, and work to change it, and that was a damn sight more than many in her world managed.

Amanda (Highlander), for being a breath of air and light in a world of death and angst and damned moralistic broody Scots.

Susan Ivanova (Babylon 5), for being God, and Death, and the last living thing you are ever going to see, if you threaten what's hers, for having a sense of humour and a sense of irony, for shaming the First Ones into getting their damn asses in gear, for ... for being simply the single most awesome being in that entire universe, and then some.

Timov (Babylon 5), for being there for exactly one episode and in that time completely warping the show around her, for putting Londo in his place with extreme prejudice, for saving his life and for not saying anything about it because she didn't want false gratitude. Damn, I love a woman who knows her mind.

Persephone (Greek Myth), for being the Iron Queen, for making her bargains and keeping them, for loving the dour god and making him smile

Irene Adler (Sherlock Holmes), for being 'the woman', for showing Holmes up mightly, for being as clever and sneaky and resourceful as the man himself and beating him at the finish, for making one of the single most misogynistic men in history actually respect her.

April O'Neill (TMNT), for meeting four giant ninja frikking turtles, not to mention the rat, having her little freakout and then going 'okay guys, here's how you save the world', for turning Casey from a vengeance-driven vigilante to a man with an actual heart, for generally being awesome.

Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds), for being the sanest, most freely human of all of them, for being compassionate and hopeful and damn smart.

Abby Sciuto (NCIS), for being unashamedly quirky and smart and cheerful and compassionate, and seriously damned hot on top of it

Gina Calabrese (Miami Vice), for being strong, fearless, damaged, and bloody good at her job, and for knowing when to tell Sonny Crocket to sod the hell off, and when to let him come back

Eowyn (Lord of the Rings), for being no damsel in distress, for taking up sword and shield against her father's wishes, for riding to war for her people, for killing the goddamn Witchking, who had Gandalf nervous, and being viciously, proudly awesome while doing so, and for choosing the one man in all of Middle Earth who might be worthy of her.

Maria (Metropolis), both human and robot versions, the first for changing the city, the second for being the most creepily sexual metallic being I've ever seen, and I've watched Ghost in the Shell!

Sarah Connor (Terminator), for Kyle, for John, for kicking Terminator ass

Ellen Ripley (Alien series), for ... for being Ripley. No words, y'all.

Regan (King Lear), for being sadistic and cruel and having her husband completely in the palm of her hand, and unlike her sister Goneril, able to keep him that way. Of all the villains, she was the only one completely and unashamedly evil.

Found this via jumping around She's Awesome posts, and just couldn't resist 'hell, yes'es on Eowyn and Irene in particular. You captured exactly why I love them.
