Southwark Overview and Stories:

Southwark got a series its own overview posts, plus some stories.

The overview posts are as follows: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V

Part I is overview on both timelines. Part II is geography and politics of Continuity 2. Part III is the People of Continuity 2. Parts IV and V are the Timeline of the Civil War in Continuity 2, and almost count as their own story.

The stories are as follows:

- Rings and Princes.
Immediately following Arien's presentation to Madadrian as a prisoner, Madadrian considers the difference between puppet kings and soldier princes.

Verses with multiple written entries:

Galactic Duality (link to masterlist)
The story of a human and a robot during the travails of telepathy's coming to Earth, and later the misadventures in a wider Galaxy split between Humans and Machines, and rabidly determined that none should cross the line between. Dowling/Isander pairing

Carogne (link to masterlist)
Urban fantasy set in Carogne, the city of rats beneath Vienna, caught between the twin forces of the criminal Wekha and the corrupt Polizei. In roughly chronological order of reading:

Dak Territories (no masterlist yet):
High Fantasy 'verse set in the titular Dak Territories, mostly following the attempts of a man named Beren, a group of Daemons, and the remnants of the Order of Aruk and their now-mortal god, to stop the God/Daemon war before it destroys the Daks.

Stories so far, in roughly chronological order, are:

Shadows Behind
Backstory fic. Beren, and his touching by three gods, and his first meeting with Shaiar, God of Death
Clear Center
Backstory fic. Set four years after the above. Follows Zen as he realises his cousin's nature, through a meeting with Shaiar and finding out about Beren's meeting with Raidan, and decides what he's going to do about it
The Blood Eye
At the start of the main arc. The three servants of Aruk, and their approach to battle
Comes the War, Comes the End
Later into the main arc, after Beren's capture. Meruk considers the consequences of the war
The God Asked

One Day More
A quieter moment on the final approach to the Shrine of Solinas
If One Must Die
The moment of truth at the shrine - who is sacrificed
Tangling
And the consequences of that moment of truth

Kingfisher Cycle: (no masterlist yet)
A serial story, a mythological cycle. In the Otherworld, the world of dreaming, a Kingfisher seeks her dream, to return to the world she came from. In seeking, she encounters many things in the mists, gods and dreamers, dragons and darklings things, aided only by a patron, Manannán Mac Lir.

Stories so far, in chronological order:

The Kingfisher
A woman wakes without memory on a beach in a sea of mists, and meets a god

Verses with the potential for multiple entires:
Will be moved up to the previous section if more are added to them

Medath:
Only one story so far, I think. Life, from the Jawburn arc. Although I did also RP as Ara and Nira, from the same arc, on the dreamwidth journal jawburn_steel. WARNINGS: they were slaves, including sex slaves and gladiators, in a lot of the backstory, so maybe some triggery entries (particularly 'Blood and Iron', 'If we were men', 'Pain and Love' and 'Helping Hands'). Also, some NSFW

Alchemy Verse:
Again, this one I RPed on Dreamwidth. Journal alchemy_brat. Some stories, including the aftermath of the Blood Mage case.

Circus Verse:
One story so far: First Meetings. Alban and Clarity's first meeting with the rest of the team, in particular Joseph.

Spindlebone:
Two stories.
So Favoured.
An early conversation between the half-demon Spindlebone and the knight assigned to him, Lord Carthian
Greener Pastures
A facet of Carthian is exposed. Spindle reacts

Thorngod Priest:
Fantasy-western universe. One story so far.
Into Whitewood
Myna Albrecht, Investigating Magess, stalks into the town of Whitewood on the borders of the wastelands to investigate a potential malignancy. Her initial investigations do not necessarily go well.

Standalones and Concept Sketches:

The Nacre Guardsman
Horror/Fantasy/War Concept. "The thing about wars is that they leave legends behind them. People need stories so that afterwards it makes sense. All those bodies. All those blighted fields. People need stories after a war. They need honour and bravery and glorious sacrifice. They need myths, and the glimmers of things too great to ever truly die." In the horror-stricken aftermath of an Imperial War against dragons, stories live on of a horror and a hope.

Logistically Complicated
A tiny bit of a reverse Beauty & the Beast. The beautiful scholar prince of a conquered country is given in marriage to the monstrous warrior queen of their conquerors, in an effort to keep his family and his kingdom safe. It's possible that his new wife didn't expect him to be quite as pragmatic about it as he is, though. To be fair, his family didn't either.

Heartwood
Standalone. The wyrldwood, the last forest that stretches along the northern edge of the world along the boundary between it and chaos, is nothing any sensible person wants to tangle with. Though it's been quiet for the last four centuries, since the last great incursion of chaos was vanquished, it still evokes nothing but madness and monsters for most people. Unfortunately, when your partner and the love of your life is a wyrldwood fae by birth, sooner or later even the most sensible person might end up daring its confines. With Laerin as her partner, Gethyd has little choice, and all she can do now is weather the cavalcade of secrets the promise of that vast northern forest draws forth. (Fantasy)

Cityside Fairytale
Standalone. "Don't nobody mess with Carla James. And don't nobody forget that the river will have its due." The city and the river feed each other, but if somebody murders the wrong man, if somebody tips things the wrong way, then the river will have its due. (Urban Fantasy/Fairytale Noir)

The Witch Run of Gethryck
Standalone. Every year on the twenty third day of Aubyn, in the counties of Wychfarm, Lydd, Cathyll and Mayffryn in the province of Gethryck, the annual Witch Run takes place. It's done so in one form or another for over five hundred years now, and there's nobody in the four counties who’ll say a word against it. (Fantasy/Folklore/Gossip)

Lovely, Ill-Mannered Creatures
Standalone. There are creatures, the watchers in the night, who guard the edges of reality, who have chosen to do so for myriad reasons of their own. The Spider is one of them, the keeper of many of their secrets, and she is just rude and incautious enough to tell you one of them. Only a little one, a friendly one. The secret of the Graveyard Man, who is her friend, and probably will not kill her for it. (Cosmic Horror/Fantasy, Gen)

Yves
Standalone. Sometimes, for entirely understandable reasons, you end up under the impression that your great-aunt's secret lover may or may not be a vampire. Sometimes, it turns out that the universe is a whole lot stranger than that. All's well that end's well, though. Or close enough, anyway. (Urban Fantasy, M/F)

Cainsford Fourteen Miles
Sequel to 'The Wanderer' below in snippets. The Cainsford Fourteen, the last stretch of road into Cainsford, has been haunted for years. Everyone who drives the 19A, the night route into town, knows that good and well. This time, though, Sandra has a passenger aboard who might be able to help. (Ghost Story, Gen)

A Thief's Challenge
Standalone. After over forty years of disinterest, the Queen of Thieves has announced a challenge of thieves to win her hand in marriage. Her oldest friend doesn't take the news well, initially. Then he takes it very well indeed. (Thieves Romance, M/F)

A Reaper Come Lately
Standalone. An old woman, freshly dead, finds a not-so-grim reaper with a familiar face come to take her home. Being who they are, they can't help but have an argument in the process. Oh, but it's good to have him again. (Ghost Romance, M/F)

Loved Not Wisely
Standalone. There are such things as paired souls, drawn to each other across all the cycles of reincarnation. This is the story of one pair, whose love was so great that a god cursed them out of jealousy, so that they should always meet as enemies, and recognise each other only as they met their doom at each other's hands. (Myth/Fantasy, M/F)

The Statue
Standalone. In Regency England, a bereaved and extremely eligible bachelor dreams of escape from society's demands, and takes solace -and perhaps more than that- in the company of a stone monstrosity. (Historical Fantasy, M/F)

The Rose Knight
Standalone. Sir Alain-Michel d'Estrées has come to the capital in search of the legendary Rose Knight, the country's premiere magician, spiritualist and champion, in the hopes that she will aid his family. First introductions, however, do not go particularly well. Though they don't go that badly either. (Historical Fantasy, gen, character sketch)

With A Faerie Wild And Wary
Standalone. It was not wise to venture into the endless forests, nor to search for faeries there. She had never been wise, though, and of the two of them, the faerie and her, perhaps she was not the only one snared. (Fairytale, 1827 words, gen)

Castles in the Sky
Standalone. While the shadows of fresh war draw closer and the age of airships draws to a close, two tainted exiles stand aboard a poisoned paradise and wait for reality to shatter old illusions. A world full of iron is not kind to fae, and a sky full of iron wings even less so. (Historical fantasy, set around 1938, M/M)

The Long Dark
Standalone. Sent ahead of an exiled cityship seven million souls strong, the crew of the nine-man aethership Voidsong trace the edge of the intergalactic void in search of a safe path, and stumble across a lone and powerful sentinel keeping watch against the dark. (Space Fantasy, 8300 words, F/F)

The Interrogator
Standalone, secret police. In the aftermath of a revolution, an interrogator for the secret police awaits his fate

A Quiet Radiance
Standalone. Fairytale, sort of. The meeting of a narrator with two powerful spirits

Dust
Standalone, sci-fi. One of my oldest stories. Deathfic. In a post-apocalyptic world, an alien dreamwraith and two humans struggle to survive

Radiance (on DW)
Standalone. Deathfic! Vampire fic! A vampire and his victim, at the end

The Arrangement
I'm not sure if this is a standalone, or something that might be a larger verse, but it's very low priority, so. Heh. Negotiations in an unusual marriage (M/M/F, the F being asexual)

Clay
One of my oldest original pieces. A grieving husband attempts to immortalise his wife in clay

Definitions
Tiny scrap from a high fantasy story, a rebel camp considers two new arrivals

Twilight Travellers
Tiny scraplet, vaguely post-apocalyptic. An angel and a demon, walking down a road

Sleeping, Seeping
Small scrap of a fratricidal war. Two brothers, and the costs of shattered dreams

Spinners in the Stars
Tiny ficlet, science fiction/horror-ish. The goblins in the hollows between stars

Kingdom of the Blind
Tiny dialogue-only ficlet, military/psychological horror. Three men, remnants of their unit, are stuck in an abandoned, pitch-black base

Blood Wolf
Small ficlet, dark fairytale. "Mother, you are blood red." An outflanked army returns home, expecting ruin, and finds something else instead.

Manners Saveth Man
Ficlet, fairytale/fantasy. An extremely grumpy sorceress rants about stupid knights to her somewhat amused dragon friend

Ghostwyrm
Ficlet, fantasy/sci-fi. In a war of dragons, sometimes superstition and terror are the most powerful weapons of all. A young freedom fighter introduces his allies to his new partner, and their new weapon.

The Wanderer
Drabble, horror/friendship. "Take me home," the ghost asked. "Please."

Noonday Breakfast
Concept sketch for a new universe. A little glimpse of daily life at Chateau Lamont, the hillside residence of Monique Lamont, socialite and businesswoman, also known as La Nuit, lovecraftian superhero and protector of Silver City.

A Silent Companionship
Ficlet, fairytale/fantasy. To imagine the friendship of a lowly river gnome and a fae champion would be the height of foolishness. Rue doesn't particularly care. It's a quiet thing they have, her winter knight and her. A silent companionship.

Talaris
Concept, science fantasy/mythology. At the dawn of a new era, beyond what even gods know, Hermes and Helios stand on a space station to watch humanity's first FTL spaceship prepare for her maiden voyage. And Hermes, at least, prepares to join her.

There are few other random drabbles on the 'original fiction' tag, but I think these are the important ones -_-; That's all, folks!
