senmut gave me:
Blue Masque

Found this one going through pretty_pixels on LJ. I've always loved the Venetian Carnivale atmosphere, and the stories of the Harlequin and the Jester. Blue is a somber colour, true, but this icon is for mischief, and mystique, and masks. It also strongly reminds me of the Kushiel's Legacy series, for some reason. Baroque, mysterious, calm. Like that. I love it.
Icarus Falls

Made myself, from an image I found on the internet. I don't know who the artist is. I wish I did. The image is simply ... awesome. Icarus as he plunges into light, the wings already melting, little more than a dream. The beauty of the fall, for just that one moment. Heh. Obsessed as I am with the Icarus myth, I couldn't let it go. Plus. It may not be obvious in the icon-sized version, but in the full image, that upper foot? Is gorgeously rendered. I could stare at that foot for hours. Weird as that may sound.
Strong woman

I found this when I was browsing the internet for images of powerful women for
jawburn_steel. Didn't matter what nation, race or creed, only that they were female, and they were strong. And I found this. And liked it so much that I carried it over here as well. Done classical, as in civilisation, she reminded me of some paintings my mother put up back home, too. She's woman, saddened and strong. I love her.
Nebula

*grins* Again, found this on a random browse. I've gone through various astronomy kicks in my life, and through all of them it was always the image of the nebula that caught me. So etheral. So vast. So beautiful. The birthplace of stars. An there was an icon, right there for the taking. Had to have. Heh. This is my icon for sci-fi, for the future, and for Dowling/Isander, just because. This is my icon for possibility.
Muncle

As in Man From UNCLE. *grins* A stirling piece of my childhood, and a fantastic show, even now. Yes, clunky plots and sixties mentality and all. *laughs* And this icon shows Illya at his snarky, insinuating best. As Napoleon says, he's very sneaky, you know that? Doesn't even need text. Just David McCallum's expression, and Vaughn's resolute ignoring of it. Don't use this one much, but even just to have it cheers me up.
Loki

Again, made this one myself. Write one Loki fic, and suddenly I'm hunting for images. I'm such a helplessly visual person. I don't know where the art came from. I think it's an illustration from a book. But it is decidedly Loki. Red and pointed and sneering, and I adore how he was drawn. Mischief, cruelty and cleverness, all in one. That is the God of Mischief. Cross him at your peril. Heh.

I read a fic not long ago, wish I'd remembered you liked Man from UNCLE, because it was a Who crossover. With Ilya.
