Warnings/Notes:
Prohibition/Noir/Organised Crime AU. Deals with violence, murder, racism, crime, homophobia, rape, trauma, vigilanteism and its consequences, turf wars, prostitution, sex-for-gain, etc. Relatively dark versions of the characters, a lot of conflict between them. Um. Not a friendly AU, in short. Villains include Obadiah Stane, this version of Odin, and possibly one other (not sure yet).
Also: there is some attempt at historical accuracy, but, ah, nowhere near sufficient to actually claim the description. Mostly it will be flavour, so beware the occasional blatant anachronism and the continuous complete lack of any real knowledge of New York, past or present. *ducks sheepishly*
Structure:
An experiment on my part at using that strangest of writing techniques: planning. *grins faintly* Each story will be focused on one meeting/encounter between various of the characters, hopefully telling the overarching story in a series of smaller encounters. This is the theory, at least. We'll see how far we actually get with that one.
Summary:
Set in mid-to-late 1920s, during the Prohibition Era, in New York City, with reference to Atlantic City and New Jersey.
Tony Stark, heir to one of the oldest, richest and most corrupt families in New York, is almost murdered, and takes a turn as a bootlegger and crime boss as a result. These are the ripples out from that choice across an ensemble cast, and one very particular turf war in late 20s New York.

Rhodey pulls Tony out of a river next to a burning warehouse in North Jersey, and Tony starts on the road to crime and vengeance

4) Vision in Green - Tony & Loki
Loki shows up on Tony's turf, as part of Odin's opening moves northward, and Tony decides he'll have some of that
5) Vision in Blue - Loki & Bruce, about Tony & Pepper, Odin
Bruce fills Loki in on some of the realities living around Tony Stark, and his history. Loki tries to figure out how much danger he's in
6) Honey and Pearls - Phil & Pepper & Steve, Tony, Bruce, Natasha, Maria, Bucky ... Ensemble?
Pepper goes to meet Prohibition Agent Phil Coulson, who they suspect may be running a honeytrap on her. Turns out, neither of them knew quite what they were getting into
