Right. A number of people have pointed out lately that I've a tendancy to overuse ellipses. Which, when I re-read back over recent stuff, seems a fair point. (I think it's mostly recent. I've always used them, but I think for some reason the every-second-line was a recent thing).
I've been trying for the last few stories to keep my eye on it, and avoid unnecessary ones. I think (*fingers crossed*) that that's largely worked. (I'm sort of surprised by how many places my in-full-flow writing mode seems to think could use a pause).
However, having re-read 'Covered' on writing the sequel, I kinda cringed a little bit at the ones already there. So. I'm going back to strip out extraneous ellipses on already-written stories. I did 'Covered' and 'Things More Intimate', since I think people actually pointed to those two as problematic.
Um. Are there any other stories you think could really use that service? Running back and cutting out the extra pauses that I missed the first time? If so, point them out, and I'll see what we can do. *ducks sheepishly*
Also, on a completely unrelated note, I find myself in need of a female icon or two. The only one I have is 'Last Unicorn', and possibly 'Hand'. *browses*
