... It would be nice, sometimes, to know where some of my vocabulary comes from. Because I'm in the middle of writing a story, and I find myself typing the word 'remonstrances'. And then staring at it, for a second, and going to look it up to check that it is, in fact, a word. It is. It's even, in point of fact, the exact word I was looking for, meaning exactly what I thought it meant.

In context more often than dictionary definitions, vague senses more than precise understandings. So many words.
