... It took me way, waaay too long to realise that if you edit a story on AO3, it bumps it back up the list order on the site. I wondered why I kept losing track of stories on a tags search if I editted them -_-;
See, I tend to do this thing where I write my best stuff at around four in the morning. And then I post it up, because otherwise I can't sleep with it sitting there (my neuroses, let me show you them). And then I go crash out for however many hours I'm allowed to sleep, and some time the next day, I will actually go back and read whatever the hell I posted, and find all the four-in-the-morning, what-were-you-thinking typos. And I will edit the story to fix them. About twelve odd hours after I first posted it, usually.
Which, I'm now realising, keeps the story bouncing around the day's story listings on AO3, because the site thinks I'm updating or something.
Um. I really, sincerely apologise for this -_-;
(I have tried just saving the story to post the next morning, but every time I do, I reliably find myself back downstairs at half-five in the morning thinking itchily what I did wrong, wondering if I'm supposed to keep writing - I write in solid blocks, usually, one piece at a time, which is why so much of my stuff is as segmented as it is - and I can't get to sleep unless the thing is posted, and thus mentally designated 'finished' in my head).
Um. So. Yes. Apologies for my weird writing habits bouncing stuff around on people, yes? *ducks sheepishly*
