Apparently, whenever I'm too mushed for anything else, I resurrect old memes. *shrugs sheepishly* This one is old and simple enough that even I can't mess it up (previous example here).
1) Give me ten one-word prompts for a fandom/character/pairing of your choice.
2) I'll write one/two sentances for each of those prompts.
Your pick of fandoms. Anything I've ever so much as brushed up against is fair game. Heh.

Methos (Highlander):
1) Strength
There were a hundred different kinds of strength, as many as were people, as many as were situations. There were a hundred different kinds of strength, and Methos owned very few of them. But one, one he did own. Stone, unchanging, was worn away. But water, ever-shifting, that did the wearing? *smiles*
2) Plastic
It wasn't the worst of humanity's inventions, though from the fuss they were making about it, you'd think it was. But there was a certain ... durability ... about plastic that Methos admired. It was useful, occasionally attractive, and didn't biodegrade, perpetually taking up space and littering the landscape. Rather like him, really.
3) Acrid
Five thousand years, and that was still the oldest memory. Before words, before languages, before fifty centuries of experience let him learn the nuances of it. The oldest memory, that acrid tang in the back of your throat, the dying heat, and the knowledge of loss.
4) Sensual
Beauty was a ever-changing ideal, vanity a fleeting, laughable indulgence, love a fragile, painful endeavour. But touch, taste, movement, the rhythm of two creatures cleaving together for a second, an hour, a lifetime? That was eternal. That was, in its way, forever.
5) Forever
What did forever mean? The second until the sword falls, that's forever. The hours as you wait for a challenge, that's forever. The days as her life slips slowly away, that's forever. The years as he fades into old age, that's forever. The decades of Immortal friendship, that's forever. The centuries as civilisations fall, that's forever. The millennia as worlds change, that's forever. Forever and ever, and still he stands. Maybe that's forever. Maybe he's forever.
6) Pizza
Somewhere inside him, the proud (for a while) Roman cringes in outright horror. Somewhere inside him, centuries of civilisation weep. Methos grins, and licks tomato sauce off his wrist.
7) Fragile
She lay on the bed, barely breathing, spun bone and flesh, like all before her. So fragile. So pale. It hit him. Over and over again. How delicate they were. How delicate they all were. And how very, very strong. On the bed, she opened her eyes, and smiled, and Methos watched her in awe.
8) Capacity
There were no limits to humanity. That's what five millennia had taught him. There were no limits to their capacity. For cruelty, for kindness. For invention, for clinging to the past. For freedom, for captivity. There were no limits, nothing he could say they were incapable of, nothing he could not see happening. Nothing they would not do. It was ... exciting. It always had been.
9) Youth
When he is 'born' again, when he becomes someone new ... he looks at himself in the mirror. He watches the face that waits there, watches the stranger inside it, the young man that lives in unlined skin and easy smiles, innocent of the experiences that have scarred the person called 'Methos'. He watches that face, and envies it.
10) Siblings
'Brother' does not mean to him what it means to others. What it means to Duncan, what it meant to Kronos. It's ... close, maybe, but never ... never fully there. Once upon a time, he was a man, and called another man brother. Once upon a time, he died for that man, and woke up a demon, a god, a wandering spirit. Once upon a time, he had a brother, and gave for that brother everything. For him, 'brother' is curse, blessing, prayer, oath. For him, 'brother' is death, life, past, fate. For him, 'brother' is everything. For him, 'brother' is nothing, dust millennia ago. For him ... 'brother' is love, and a promise that can never, ever be kept.
Sorry, Kronos. Caspian, Silas. Duncan. Sorry.
