RHARGLE FLARGLE POOP!! I NEED WARNING FOR THIS SHIT!!
*breathes* Sorry, sorry. I don't ... I don't do well with surprises. I need warning before you randomly pull me from work to go do some unspecified workshop thingy, especially when my work hours are already screwed this week because I had an appointment today and had to work an extra day last week to make up for the fact that I wouldn't be in. And then I get a call, you're not in work tomorrow, we're pulling you to do this thing, show up here instead. We've organised it with your site supervisor, don't worry about it.
Organised it?? You mean you rang her two minutes ago and told her you were pulling me, that's what you mean by organising. WARNING! Warning is good for all concerned! That means I'll have worked a grand total of two hours for the people I'm actually meant to be working for this week, unless I arrange to work an extra day again to make up for it again.
And it will probably be fine. My supervisor has been good about these things so far. But I already had to rearrange stuff on her this week, and this had NO WARNING, and I hate having to shortchange one set of responsibilities for the sake of another. I hate being answerable to two sets of people for the same job, and then randomly having to choose between them.
Also? I don't like surprises. At all. Ever. And I know it's an emergency and they're short staffed and the actual president's daughter is somehow involved in the workshop thingy, so prestige and emergency and needing someone to show up, but I actually said no last week, and then pulling me in anyway is not cool, okay. I don't like it.
*breathes more* I'm over-reacting, yes. My appointment went oddly, I've been discharged from continuous out-patient care (I've been attending regular check-ups for the last four years), it means another big change thing and another semi-permanent part of my life has been removed today, so I'm fucking twitchy, is what I am. And dumping a surprise work thing on me does not make for happy times, not on top of everything else that's going on. But. *waves hand* Calming down, yes, fine, I will manage this. I will show up for random strange workshop tomorrow, with zero preparation done and no clear idea what the everloving hell the thing even is, and I will bullshit something coherent sounding because if five years of college and two years of debating taught me anything, it's how to bullshit plausible and more-or-less accurate nothings on the fly (wide knowledge base helps bundles - read a little of everything, it always comes in handy).
