Some thoughts on 'The Librarians', now that I'm all caught up and in love :D
Not Very Coherent Thoughts:
1) Charlene is forever awesome and I will always adore her.
2) Eve and Ezekiel are also awesome and I adore them.
3) Jenkins is adorable and I think his storyline with Dulaque was probably my favourite thing about this season. His face in 'Apple of Discord', I wanted to hug him so badly.
4) I really loved a lot of the little details the show worked in. That moment in 'City of Lights' where Cassandra walked past a sign saying 'Wardenclyffe Dam', I about bounced in my seat. For bonus points, they also threw in a reference to 'going up like Tunguska' that made me very happy.
5) It actually worked really well with what it had. When 'Heart of Darkness' kicked into gear and there's a haunted house in Slovakia and the house we drive up to is the most American looking house on the planet, I'm thinking 'you film where you can, leave them off', but then it turns around and that's actually a plot point. They worked with it. I like that.
6) I did kind of miss Charlene and Judson, and Flynn for a lot of it, because I actually did enjoy the movies and miss their presence a lot, but I also really do like the younger team. Especially Ezekiel, which probably figures, but he's just so cheerfully and amorally awesome, with moments of surprising depth and kindness.
7) I know Flynn basically runs on adrenalin and excitement and is a flibbertygibbet at the best of times, but seriously, he latches on to every woman in range who looks like she can survive a relationship with him. Nicole, Amy, Simone, Eve. It takes him like two seconds. One hair-raising adventure with someone, he's all over them. Although I am liking Flynn/Eve. Just ... dude. Every time? Really?
8) The rewatch has made me ship Charlene/Judson like burning. Charlene stalking into Judson's space during the pilot episode, jacket torn and sword in hand to protect her Library, demanding that she and Judson do something about it ... Look, I love Charlene. I have since the first movie and it cemented in the third, and then the pilot here was so good for me. The woman has the heart of a warrior and the soul of a bureaucrat, and she makes me so happy. The idea of her and Judson together cheers me right up, and if they had to be stuck all alone beyond reality with anyone, I'm glad it was with each other.
9) There is not enough of this show. I would like an awful lot more of it. I want some Jenkins & Eve fallout, I maybe want a plotline with Morgan, Jenkins, Eve and Ezekiel, I want to see Flynn's reunion with Charlene, I would quite like some resolution regarding Cassandra and the brain grape ... I want more, is my point. I want aaaalllllllll the show, please and thank you.
10) Jenkins is adorable. I just thought I'd reiterate that. His little 'vending machines are like apartment blocks where the occupant of your choice jumps to their death and becomes your snack' thing ... I adore him. Yes? He is adorable.
Now. Um. I'm going to rewatch 'Apple of Discord' once more, and then maybe try to do something productive for a change? Heh. But. I love this show, and the movies it came from, and I want at least two more seasons of it, and/or at least one more movie :)
