It's the weekend of the Strawberry Fair. Which, as usual, has gone downhill since last year, but at least the amusements were halfway decent. But what it *is* good for is people watching. Or people-listening, today. There's this set of wooden steps up by the roundabout in the middle of town, and I went up today, and just sat with the sun on my face, and listened to life go by. It was ... oddly peaceful, considering the noise and amount of idiots out for the fair. And then I went in search of a chocolate eclair, a quest which spanned half the town, but victory! Every once in a while, I need a little chocolate and cream in my life.
On a side note, I've found my light and dark animal totems/spirit guides, or whatever you call them, according to the animal cards (don't ask). But apparently my light side is the otter, as in playful, clever and practical, and my darker side is the boar, as in pig-stubborn, pushy and prone to goring people who piss me off ... Which actually would not be a bad likeness, come to think of it. *grin* My yin and yang are a pig and a water rodent. I must be a wonderful person.
That's real life at the minute, anyway. Summer holidays rock!
