icarus_chained: red loki, pointed and sneering (loki)

It's either a sign that of too much mythology, or too much TV tropes, but when my first thought on watching Michael Scofield getting himself sent to jail is "Please don't throw me in dem dar briar patch!", it's probably a sign of too much something. *grins* Though I think it's more mythology than Tropes, for this one, because I'd heard of Br'er Rabbit long before I found the internet, let alone the site. Heh.

For the record, though? Michael Scofield can briarpatch like nobody's business. Shame he has to look so perpetually smug about it, but then ... well, the archetypes he's borrowing off of tended to be fairly smug themselves. *grins*
*rubs eyes* I need to go back to bed. I've been flat all day, exhausted. Surviving the week, I guess. No nevermind, anyway. Heh.

Just had a random thought. Watching Prison Break season 4, the first half of which I utterly adored, but then, I was always quite fond of heist shows. *grins* But. Random fanfic thought. I would seriously, seriously love to see a Prison Break/Criminal Minds crossover. One that involved Alexander Mahone and Aaron Hotchner, on the subject of sons, and families, and the losing thereof. *hugs the pair of them* It would be quietly awesome, I'm convinced of this.
I need to stop doing that! *grumps at self* I need to stop finding new characters, because then I find new canons, and then I'm sunk. *shakes head at self* And it's always characters, at least with TV shows. It's different if I grew up with the show, but since finding fandom, generally I find new shows by seeing a fanfic or a meme or a section of a multifandom vid, or a link via a vidder to a new fandom, and there will be this one character, and I'll go, wow, they look interesting. And then I'll scrounge up clips of the show, and I'll watch said character, and they will be interesting, and before I know it I have a new show. *sighs*

This time, it was a meme. And in said meme, someone burbled happily about Agent Alexander Mahone from Prison Break. And he sounded cool. So I looked him up. And he's a ruthless, sneaky son of a bitch forever on the line between right and wrong because of a couple of spectacularly bad decisions, and he has angst and drama up the wazoo, and in a fight he is damned awesome to watch, and ... *spreads hands helplessly* And now I have a new show. *facepalms* Why do I do this to myself?
