The family just sat down to watch the final together. We haven't done that in years. *grins*

Act-wise, I'm probably a little weird, but Malta, Turkey and Russia were my favourites. Though I liked Albania and Macedonia too. And Estonia, granted. Heh. Sweden, not so much, but that might be because I was getting more of a 'So You Think You Can Dance' vibe off it. *shrugs*

My major impression, though? Holy shit, how much did Azerbaijan spend on that stadium? The lighting rig alone, sweet mama, that thing was beautiful, but between it and the stage and the pyrotechnics and the wall screens, it must have cost an open fortune. Not to mention programming the damn thing.

Sweet mama, though, it was gorgeous. You know how I was burbling happily about the lighting on the O2 production of Les Mis? This thing was ... Wow. No way in hell anyone short of an actual nation could afford this thing (and, from what I hear, possibly not even them). It was a thing of beauty. Holy shit. And whoever programmed it, hats off, mates. You'll probably never work on a rig like it again, but you did good.

Seriously, though. How much did they spend?
*tilts head, smiles ruefully* Rewatched Les Mis. It's as good the second (third, really third-and-a-half, but who's counting?) time around. But ... It's really, really hard to watch something, then try to babble excitedly at people about it, when most of what you're babbling about is the lighting.
