Written for the following prompt on [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic: A Rising Dark Lord from Hufflepuff. It occurred to me that a Hufflepuff gone wrong would be the very definition of a well-intentioned extremist. "Honest work, just reward, that's the way to please the Lord", to quote Javert. So. Here we go.

Fandom: Harry Potter
Characters/Pairings: Original Evil Hufflepuffs

A vestigial echo, prodded to life.

At the bottom of the box ...
Just for a bit of randomness on a slow day, I thought I'd Sort the cast of Once Upon A Time into Hogwarts Houses? Because that seems like a good idea?

Well. Some of the OUAT cast, anyway. And we're going by the stated values of each of the Hogwarts Houses, not by the track record of sorting in Harry Potter itself, because consistent, it wasn't. Um. At all. House values below:

Gryffindor: Courage, bravery, nerve and chivalry
Hufflepuff: Hard work, patience, justice and loyalty
Ravenclaw: Intelligence, creativity, learning and wit
Slytherin: Ambition, cunning, leadership and resourcefulness

For a [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic prompt, on which I blame all the insanity. *grins*

It probably says something about how exhausted and mildly hysterical I am that I have spent the past couple of hours, in between yelling at an essay, working out Methos' chances of survival/effectiveness as a combatant in HP's Second War. You know. To relax. Because what else do you do to relax except ponder taking a 5000 year old muggle killer and dumping him in the middle of a wizarding war to see how easily he kills people. *shakes head at self*

It occurs to me that I am rather bloodthirsty when I'm irritable. Heh. Also, that I need to stop reading HP fic again. Heh.

And finally, in a bit of a non sequiter, I kinda really, really want to see Methos meeting the high-and-mighties of the Wizarding World, and being thoroughly unimpressed because, over one and a half thousand years ago, Methos was meeting much more impressive wizards (*cough*Merlin*cough*) and showing them how to bully kings. *grins* Or three, four, five thousand years ago, he was watching the Priest-Kings and the War Mages of the old world rain down literal fire and brimstone, and as a result is more than a little jaded when it comes to magical posturing. Heh.

This one may require some explaining. Heh. Though first, I should note that finishing college work seems to prompt Highlander fic from me, for some reason. Heh. But. Anyway.

And now, the snippet itself:

Title: With Care, With Abandon
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Highlander, Harry Potter
Characters/Pairings: Methos, Sana (OFC), mention of Severus Snape and a lot of Methos' history
Summary: Methos discusses his new student with an old friend
Wordcount: 1091
Warnings/Notes: Fantasy. Just a window on a potential Methos
Disclaimer: Not mine

Doing these requests out of order, and slowly, I'm afraid. I'm travelling this weekend, unfortunately. This one, though, grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Do you know, it's been years since I've written Potter fanfiction? I'd forgotten how much I'd adored Severus, once upon a time. And still do, apparently.

Title:  Promises
Rating:  PG-13
Fandoms:  Highlander: the series, Harry Potter (circa Order of the Phoenix)
Characters/Pairings:  Methos/Adam Pierson, Severus Snape, Irma Pince, cameo by one of the Weasleys. Methos/Severus.
Summary:  Reputations, deceptions and promises. A wartime romance, and two men who delight in confounding expectations. Even each other's
Wordcount:  2322
Disclaimer:  I own nothing, not even the boys, which is a pity because I would have liked to treat them a bit better than they were
Notes:  for the prompt "Snape has a lover? That's Snape's lover???"
