Okay, so, this awesome Star Trek vid just went up, and it is the best thing ever, so I had to rec it straight away:

Long Live by cosmic_llin (Star Trek, All Series)

This is my favourite Star Trek vid on the face of this or any planet. It's ... It starts with TOS, and then through tiny moments of individual connection starts to trace it's way up through the whole universe, then moves to favourite moments, and then hands the torch on to the newest Treks. From around the line "the end of a decade, the start of an age", I was nothing but a cooing, happy mess. Every time I watched it. It is the Trek vid, I swear to gods and warp engines. TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, a touch of ENT and AOS. Everything.

And then, since I was recommending vids, I figured I'd go through the favourites again. Here's another nine vids from various fandoms:

From today's [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic theme:

Harry Potter, Hermione, Badass:

Knowledge is power, and she's well-armed.

Rivers of London, Peter/Nightingale, Touch:

A vestigial echo, prodded to life.

MCU, Tony/Loki, Smirk:

Are losers supposed to look smug?

New Tricks, Strickland, Liar:

Lies of omission, sometimes necessary evils.

Once Upon A Time, Rumpelstiltskin, Royal:

Synonymous with 'demanding brat'. Trust him.

Greek Mythology, Eumenides, Kind Ones:

They cleanse. There is nothing kinder.

Pacific Rim/Cthulhu Mythos, Kaiju, Cthulhu Lies Sleeping:

Not all kaiju broke surface unscathed.

MCU, Tony Stark, Technology:

Shouldn't go boom. Well. Not always.

Discworld, Igor, Secondhand:

"Got a nithe, frethh one, Mathter."

Author's choice, Author's choice, Dark:

Blinded by light, in darkness heal.

Author's choice (Dresden Files), Author's choie, Apex Predator:

One word, ladies and gents. Sue.

Author's choice, Author's choice, Ties

Necktie: a garrotte waiting to happen.

New Tricks, Gerry Standing, Dirty House

Last man standing, for a reason.

Musketeers 2014, Aramis/Queen Anne, Forbidden:

Worse than affairs. Well nigh treason.

Author's choice (Dexter's Lab), Author's Choice, Repetition:

"Omelette du fromage. Omelette du fromage ..."

Don't Look Under The Bed, Frannie, Mysterious Things You Find Under The Bed:

Gym socks, boogeymen, and hell dimensions.

Author's choice (Greek Myth), Author's choice (Pandora), Hope:

At the bottom of the box ...
Did they actually call one of the kaiju Slattern? Because every time I see it in fic, it weirds me out so much. (No, I still haven't gotten around to seeing the movie :( Life is not being cooperative right now).

Seriously, though. Slattern? That's an official designation? That ... doesn't really say nice things about the PPDC, I would have thought?

Um. I still haven't seen the movie. And I probably ought to stop checking out the kinkmeme -_-; But. Um. Have a Newt & Hermann Inception AU?

Title: Cathedrals in Potassium and Water
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Pacific Rim (2013)
Characters/Pairings: Newton Geiszler, Hermann Gottlieb, mention of Stacker and Tendo. Newt & Hermann
Summary: Newton Geiszler is the best damn chemist in the dreamshare business, and Hermann Gottlieb is the best damn architect, but holy shit do you not want them to ever actually share the same headspace. They'd shared jobs, but never shared the dream. Not until now, not until this one. And look where that had gotten them. Or: the Newt & Hermann Inception AU wherein they both get stuck in Limbo.
Wordcount: 2012
Warnings/Notes: For this prompt (Inception AU). Angst and h/c ahoy
Disclaimer: Not mine

Okay. This is the afore-mentioned fever-fic for a canon I haven't actually see yet (I'm going off recaps and screencaps, mostly). Um. My apologies?

Title: Needful Things
Rating: R
Fandom: Pacific Rim (2013)
Characters/Pairings: Newton Geiszler, Hermann Gottlieb. Newt/Hermann
Summary: Newt had thought that the Anteverse would be the most terrible thing he encountered in the Drift. He was wrong. Some horrors are ever so much closer to home.
Wordcount: 1022
Warnings/Notes: Shaky/non-existant knowledge of canon, lovecraftian AU, annihilation of universes. Written for this kinkmeme prompt
Disclaimer: Not mine
