Okay, so, this awesome Star Trek vid just went up, and it is the best thing ever, so I had to rec it straight away:

Long Live by cosmic_llin (Star Trek, All Series)

This is my favourite Star Trek vid on the face of this or any planet. It's ... It starts with TOS, and then through tiny moments of individual connection starts to trace it's way up through the whole universe, then moves to favourite moments, and then hands the torch on to the newest Treks. From around the line "the end of a decade, the start of an age", I was nothing but a cooing, happy mess. Every time I watched it. It is the Trek vid, I swear to gods and warp engines. TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, a touch of ENT and AOS. Everything.

And then, since I was recommending vids, I figured I'd go through the favourites again. Here's another nine vids from various fandoms:

I'm kinda loopy and exhausted today, mostly because of the Staircase Incident in work today. I've been moved to the sister site this week, new people and new place and new rules, and I'm always a little stupid for the first couple of days. So this morning, I got handed a sweeping brush, a hand brush and a dustpan, and asked to sweep the old staircase (three storey, old, really tight spiral staircase). And I said okay, because it's just sweeping, you know, it'll be easy.

Um. Anyway. Have a random Trek gifset that I just saw on tumblr (I don't actually know how to navigate tumblr, I just see images there sometimes): Kirk, this is why you gotta fill out the log. For your TOS/TNG giggles, yes?

*shakes head, wanders off* Oi. I need to sleep.

For a prompt on [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic. Which went in a surprisingly non-cracky direction, all things considered -_-;

Title: The Great Kirk vs Picard Debate

Fandoms: Avengers movieverse, discussion of ST:TOS, ST:TNG, ST:DS9, Men in Tights (I swear, it makes sense in context)

Wordcount: 1200
Warnings/Notes: Erm. Still a little cracky, yes. *grins*

Reply and I'll give you four fandoms. You then have to make an entry writing about your favorite character from each fandom, and why.

[livejournal.com profile] morganoconner  gave me Supernatural, Good Omens, Star Trek, and Pirates of the Caribbean. And damn, it was hard!

Title:  The Jewel In Heaven's Eye

Characters/Pairings:  Methos, Deanna Troi
Summary:  An empath, and an Immortal leaving Earth for the first time
Wordcount:  2240
Disclaimers:  I own absolutely nothing here

This post: http://icarus-chained.livejournal.com/96287.html, as per my perhaps ill-advised request, now has comment fics including such pairings as:

J'onn Jonzz / Talia Winters (DCU/Babylon 5)
Harry Dresden / Clark Kent (Dresden Files/DCU)
Sherlock Holmes / Selina Kyle (Holmes/DCU)
Bruce Wayne / Clark Kent / Alexander the Great / Hephaestion (DCU/Greek History)
J'onn Jonzz / Jareth the Goblin King (DCU/Labyrinth)
Harry Dresden / Nicodemus Archleone (Dresden Files)
Clark Kent / Q (DCU/Star Trek TNG)
and
Enterprise/Liberator (Star Trek TOS/Blake's 7 - yes, the ships. Blame Jen)

Peruse at your own peril

Title:  Eternity
Fandom:  Star Trek, Next Generation
Rating:  PG
Characters/Pairings:  Q/Picard (again, I'm afraid)
Summary:  "I have written you into the hearts of stars, mon capitaine."
Wordcount:  2224
Warnings:  Um. I got a little ... philosophical. And, um, schmoopy.
Notes:  Written for [livejournal.com profile] merfilly , whose prompt was:

"There was an unearthly quality to the beach, its sands fine but slicker than expected, and the skies were a ruddy orange, instead of the pale blue so prevalent on most single sun worlds."

Eternity )
Because I'm in the mood for them, and because this has annoyed the hell out of me since I first saw Deja-Q. Honestly, am I the only person who realises how horrifying what they did to Q really was?

Title:  Human
Rating:  PG-13
Characters/Pairing:  Picard/Q
Summary:  Established relationship. Q finally explains to Picard why he doesn't like talking about that particular incident.
Notes:  Mostly angst, with some schmoop at the end.
Wordcount:  2392
Disclaimer:  Not mine.

I am not human, Jean-Luc )

Because [livejournal.com profile] merfilly  has put me in the mood for cosmic trekfic. Thank you, hon, by the way! Also, this is Christmas-fic. So sue me!

Title:  Snowglobe
Rating:  PG
Characters/Pairing:  Q/Picard, though only from a distance, as yet.
Wordcount:  421
Summary:  It was pure whimsy.
Notes:  Partly inspired by the crystal-ball scene from Labyrinth. Opening line is from that song.
Disclaimer:  It's Paramount's, yes?

But I'll be there for you, as the world falls down ... )

And this one, I'm actually real nervous about putting up, because I've posted it elsewhere before, a couple of years back, when I was young and innocent and starting out as a fanfic writer. But ... I'm fond of it, and I kinda want to bring it on with me to LJ. So. Here it be:

Title:  A Far Distant Star
Fandom:  ST:TNG

Characters/Pairings:  Picard/Q, Deanna
Summary:  Q accidentally reveals rather more than he ever intended to while trying to help Deanna out, and Jean-Luc gets landed in the middle of it.

Now what have you done, Q? )

Right. Jen wrote me Q a while back, and since then I've been kind of sniping at this thing in snatches in between ... well, all the other crap, and it's about as good as it's gonna get, so ...

Title: Thank you
Colloquial Title (because how could I resist?): Mind your P's and Q's
Rating: PG. A kiss involved, though.
Summary: an evening chat leads to revelations
Warnings: Slash. The kiss. And the fact that this pair make me absolutely, irredeemably SOPPY. So be warned.
